CSE Telematics Partners with Theta Edge to Develop AI-Powered Vehicle Safety Platform

CSE Telematics Sdn Bhd is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Theta Edge Berhad to jointly develop and commercialise a connected vehicle safety and risk intelligence platform, known as eCall.

The collaboration will be carried out through a newly formed joint venture company (JVCo), in which Theta, via its wholly owned subsidiary Theta Mobility Sdn Bhd, will hold a 51% equity stake, while CSE Telematics will own the remaining 49%.

The joint initiative will focus on the development of integrated software and digital solutions that can automatically detect vehicular accidents and alert emergency services in real-time. The system is designed to deliver critical crash data—including location, severity, and occupant status—to reduce emergency response times and improve post-incident care.

Under the agreement, the JVCo will hold the intellectual property developed as part of the project and will pay CSE Telematics a 10% royalty on gross revenue for the use of its base eCall technology.

“This partnership allows Theta to leverage CSE’s telematics and vehicle safety expertise to expand into intelligent mobility solutions,” the company stated in its announcement to Bursa Malaysia.

The JVCo will be governed by a board of three directors—two nominated by Theta and one by CSE—and will pursue external financing to support its operations. Subject to regulatory and operational requirements, the company is expected to be officially established within 60 days.

While the joint venture is not expected to have a material impact on Theta Edge’s financial results for the financial year ending 2025, it is anticipated to contribute positively to future earnings.
